Central Italy rocked by two earthquakes

Two earthquakes have struck central Italy causing widespread damage to the region just two months after a quake in the same area left nearly three hundred people dead. The scene in the past few hours has been described as apocalyptic. The epicentre was about 120km north east of Rome. Tremors were felt in the capital. Al Jazeera's Richard Martin reports. Two powerful earthquakes have hit small towns and villages in central Italy. Buildings have been damaged not far from where a large quake killed 300 people in August.
