EPS Nepal Korea

The South Korean human resource department has allocated 5,700 jobs to Nepali workers for 2014 under the Employment Permit System ( EPS ). The workers will be selected from a roster of some 9,700 aspirant Nepali migrants who have successfully completed the Korean language test. South Korea had hired 5,234 Nepali migrants in 2013. Korea Employment Permit System ( EPS ) in Nepal said the quotas will be applicable to those who will work in the manufacturing sector. The ceiling allocated to Nepali workers is the fourth largest in terms of quantity after Cambodia, Indonesia, and Thailand. South Korea currently hires workers from fifteen countries under the EPS and plans to hire some 53,000 workers this year. Around 64,000 were hired last year. Lee Dong Sirk, human resource director at the Korea EPS centre in Nepal, said his government has given priority to Nepali workers despite overall fall in job demands due to their good track records and the tendency to return back home. “Those who have three years of work experience in Korea can apply again after passing the special Korea language test. The recruitment process has been simplified for such workers,” Lee told reporters on Friday. The EPS centre in Nepal holds a special language test every three months. The upcoming test will be held on March 12 and the exam forms can be collected from February 26 to March 2. The result of the test will be published on March 31. For both fresh workers and reentrants, successfully completing the Korean language test alone does not guarantee a job in Korea, the centre added. “We request the aspirant migrants not to be misled and leave the job in hand unless they receive the labour contract. Passing the language only qualifies workers to to be enlisted in the roster and a skill test enhances their chance of selection,” said Lee. The South Korean government has increased the minimum salary of migrant workers by seven percent.

We know all about the difference between coconut milk and cream but lately we’ve been hearing lots of people talk about coconut water and juice. What are they, exactly, and is there a difference between them? And does it matter whether you buy it in a bottle, carton, can, or shell? The short answer is no, there is no real difference between coconut water and coconut juice. Both refer to the clear, slightly sweet and refreshing liquid found inside young green coconuts. (Sometimes it also contains pulp or jelly.) Although coconut water/juice has long been enjoyed in tropical regions, it has only recently become all the rage in the US. Unlike coconut milk, the water/juice is fat free and low in calories. It’s also full of electrolytes, such as potassium, and low in sodium, leading it to become known as “nature’s sports drink.” Besides drinking it straight up, coconut water/juice may be used in a variety of recipes.

After the arrival of thousands of Tibetans following the 1959 Chinese invasion, the temple has become one of the most important centers of Tibetan Buddhism. Today it remains an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists and local Nepalis, as well as a popular tourist site. From above, Bodnath Stupa looks like a giant mandala, or diagram of the Buddhist cosmos. And as in all Tibetan mandalas, four of the Dhyani Buddhas mark the cardinal points, with the fifth, Vairocana, enshrined in the center (in the white hemisphere of the stupa). The five Buddhas also personify the five elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether), which are represented in the stupa’s architecture. There are other symbolic numbers here as well: the nine levels of Boudhanath Stupa represent the mythical Mt. Meru, center of the cosmos; and the 13 rings from the base to the pinnacle symbolize the path to enlightenment, or “Bodhi” — hence the stupa’s name.

The experience of being entertained has come to be strongly associated with amusement, so that one common understanding of the idea is fun and laughter, although many entertainments have a serious purpose. This may be the case in the various forms of ceremony, celebration, religious festival, or satire for example. Hence, there is the possibility that what appears as entertainment may also be a means of achieving insight or intellectual growth. An important aspect of entertainment is the audience, which turns a private recreation or leisure activity into entertainment. The audience may have a passive role, as in the case of persons watching a play, opera, television show, or film; or the audience role may be active, as in the case of games, where the participant/audience roles may be routinely reversed. Entertainment can be public or private, involving formal, scripted performance, as in the case of theatre or concerts; or unscripted and spontaneous, as in the case of children’s games. Most forms of entertainment have persisted over many centuries, evolving due to changes in culture, technology, and fashion. Films and video games, for example, although they use newer media, continue to tell stories, present drama, and play music. Festivals devoted to music, film, or dance allow audiences to be entertained over a number of consecutive days.

If anyone had an excuse to order takeout every night, it would be Giada De Laurentiis. Because in addition to starring in TV shows on Food Network (including Giada in Italy), she has written eight cookbooks (the latest is Happy Cooking) and a book series for kids (including, most recently, Recipe for Adventure: Philadelphia!), and she has an eponymous restaurant in Las Vegas. So if this single working mom can still find the time to cook for herself and her daughter, Jade, 8? Then, heck, we can cook at home, too. The key, says the 46-year-old, is pre-prepping parts of your weekly meals, since—hello!—”food doesn’t rot overnight!” That’s why Giada relies on a mix-and-match approach to weekly cooking that saves time, effort, and money. “Planning your meals is not that hard,” she assures us. To help us master the habit, the Italian-born, California-bred chef has created a 30-Day No Takeout Challenge exclusively with Health. It draws on her own food philosophy, culinary-school shortcuts, and what she thinks both Americans and Italians get right about food.

Fun is the enjoyment of pleasure, particularly in leisure activities. Fun is an experience — short-term, often unexpected, informal, not cerebral and generally purposeless. It is an enjoyable distraction, diverting the mind and body from any serious task or contributing an extra dimension to it. Although particularly associated with recreation and play, fun may be encountered during work, social functions, and even seemingly mundane activities of daily living. It may often have little to no logical basis, and opinions on whether or not an activity is fun may differ. A distinction between enjoyment and fun is difficult but possible to articulate, fun being a more spontaneous, playful, or active event. There are psychological and physiological implications to the experience of fun.

TSA pat down Sacramento international airport

The Transport Security Administration (TSA) has been observed to have expanded its powers at airports to demand the right to test drinks passengers are consuming after they have passed security. The new security measures have not been specifically explained by the TSA nor is it clear what they are testing for.KJCT-8 News out of Grand Junction, Colorado made the initial report as passengers questioned the wisdom of letting passengers purchase expensive drinks after the gate and then ruining them with no refund.’The American people shouldn’t be subjected to harassment, groping and other public humiliation simply to board an airplane.’Previously, Ron Paul had launched a scathing attack on the TSA.’The police state in this country is growing out of control,’ said Paul.’One of the ultimate embodiments of this is the TSA that gropes and grabs our children, our seniors and our loved ones and neighbours with disabilities.’The TSA does all of this while doing nothing to keep us safe.’

Syrian children killed in air attack on Idlib school complex

At least 22 children killed in bombing that hit school as pupils were leaving to go home, activists say. Air strikes that hit a school in Syria’s rebel-held Idlib province killed 22 children and six teachers, the UN’s children agency UNICEF said on Wednesday. “This is a tragedy. It is an outrage. And if deliberate, it is a war crime,” said UNICEF director Anthony Lake. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said “warplanes – either Russia or Syrian – carried out six strikes” in the village of Hass, including on a school complex. The raids hit the village around 11.30am local time, an activist with the opposition Idlib Media Centre told the AFP news agency. “One rocket hit the entrance of the school as students were leaving for home, after the school administration decided to end classes for the day because of the raids,” the activist said, speaking on condition of anonymity. Other activists from the province circulated a photograph on social media of a child’s arm, sheared off above the elbow, still clutching the strap of a dusty black rucksack. The authenticity of the picture could not be independently verified. The Observatory, a UK-based monitor of Syria’s five-year conflict, initially reported two schools had been hit, but later clarified that it was a school complex made up of multiple buildings. Idlib province is controlled by the Army of Conquest, an alliance of rebel groups and militants including the Fateh al-Sham Front, which changed its name from the Nusra Front after breaking off ties with al-Qaeda earlier this year. The province has come under increasing bombardment in recent weeks, according to the Observatory. Syrian government forces and their Russian ally have been criticised by rights groups for indiscriminate attacks on civilian infrastructure. More than 300,000 people have been killed since Syria’s conflict erupted in March 2011.

Guaranteed vs. Non-Guaranteed Permanent Life Insurance Policies Fifty years ago, most life insurance policies sold were guaranteed and offered by mutual fund companies. Choices were limited to term, endowment or whole life policies. It was simple, you paid a high, set premium and the insurance company guaranteed the death benefit. All of that changed in the 1980s.Interest rates soared, and policy owners surrendered their coverage to invest the cash value in higher interest paying non-insurance products. To compete, insurers began offering interest-sensitive non-guaranteed policies. Guaranteed versus Non-Guaranteed Policies Today, companies offer a broad range of guaranteed and non-guaranteed life insurance policies. A guaranteed policy is one in which the insurer assumes all the risk and contractually guarantees the death benefit in exchange for a set premium payment. If investments underperform or expenses go up, the insurer has to absorb the loss. With a non-guaranteed policy the owner, in exchange for a lower premium and possibly better return, is assuming much of the investment risk as well as giving the insurer the right to increase policy fees. If things don’t work out as planned, the policy owner has to absorb the cost and pay a higher premium.

Health Tips – Multi Purpose Plant

Nepal has a complex topography with hills and flat lands, and the Kathmandu valley is renowned for the seasonal vegetables grown in its fertile soil. Vegetables (tarkaari) are one of the most important foods in the daily Nepali diet, and a typical Nepali meal consists of rice, lentils, and some kind of side vegetable dish. The most common vegetables include green beans, cauliflowers, cabbage, eggplants, greens (mustard, spinach), okra, potatoes, Nepali radish, squash, tomatoes and many other seasonal local vegetables. Due to the scarcity of cultivated land in many rural and hilly areas of Nepal, fresh vegetables are limited, so locals tend to consume root vegetables as well as dried and fermented vegetables. Generally, green leafy vegetables such as spinach and mustard greens are eaten daily in large quantities wherever available. Vegetables are also made into pickles, salads, snacks, and desserts. During the peak season, you may see a local farmer balancing a bamboo pole across his shoulders, holding two wicker woven baskets full of freshly picked vegetables, heading to the market. In Nepali vegetable markets, one can experience the proud skills of vendors arranging every tiny space with a dramatic display of vegetables and fruits. Greens, such as spinach, mustard, fresh coriander, and garden cress are neatly tied in small bundles and piled up in a beautiful way. A variety of dry vegetables such as potatoes, onions, and shallots are skillfully arranged in a wicker trays, or baskets or in jute-burlap sacks. On many street corners, vendors set up small stands with the fresh fruits and vegetables such as green gooseberry, labsi (Hog plum), guava, or tangerines. The vegetables are sold in the markets weighted in a hand-held local scale, known as taraaju, which comes in a variety of sizes and forms.

While these conditions can be treated and prevented with regular screen breaks and exercises the hazards of accrued exposure to blue light are still relatively unknown.

Eat more bland or starchy foods. Avoid cooking smells if they bother you—cook ahead and freeze meals that you can microwave, or look for low-salt convenience foods. Try a liquid nutritional drink like Boost or Ensure once a day. (Do not rely on these drinks entirely, as their protein, phosphorus and potassium content is high—consult a dietitian beforehand.) Have several small meals instead of one large one. Watch cooking shows on television to tempt your appetite. Boost the protein content of your meals by adding egg whites, egg white powder or protein powder. Also eat small portions of protein foods at a cold temperature, such as egg salad or a cold chicken sandwich. Get help from a renal dietitian if lack of appetite continues. If you are in stage 5 CKD and your appetite or nutritional well-being does not improve, this may be a sign that you should start dialysis. Many people find their appetite improves after some time on dialysis.
