KP Sharma Oli to leave Baluwatar Wednesday itself

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to leave the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar today itself as the Parliament is due to elect his successor on Wednesday. Oli’s press advisor Pramod Dahal said in a statement today that Oli planted a peepal tree on the PM’s residence premises few hours before leaving the official residence. Now, Oli would directly head to his personal residence in Balkot of Bhaktapur from the Parliament meeting this afternoon, according to Dahal. “The Prime Minister is planning to shift to his private residence in Balkot itself so that an appropriate environment would be made for the newly elected Prime Minister to shift to the government residence.” The CPN-UML Chairman had held separate meetings with security personnel, PM’s secretariat staff and his assistants and thanked them for the cooperation, informed Dahal.PM Oli on July 24 had resigned from the top executive position of the nation after his coalition partner CPN Maoist Centre in alliance with the main opposition Nepali Congress filed a no-confidence motion against him. He was elected the Prime Minister on October 11 last year, and had been living in the Baluwatar residence from October 16. Meanwhile, the Parliament is scheduled to elect the new Prime Minister today.
