Rajesh Payal Rai, one of the brightest stars of the Nepal, has contributed much for the musical as well as film industry of Nepal. He was born on September 30th, 1978 in Khotang. He was born in a British soldier family. He too was expected to join army but he was mostly interested in singing. He completed his S.L.C from Champawati Secondary School and came to Kathmandu in 1989 for further education. He did his I.A. from R.R. College, Kathmandu. He was known as a versatile singer. He was unmarried till date. After that he went to Radio Nepal and sang for his voice test at the age of 13 year. He passed the voice test. He started his musical career from 1992 with the song ‘Failiyo Maya Dubo Sari’. He was praised for his melodious voice and encouraged to continue singing. He also record many new songs and perform live on stage programmes. .He has already sung for one hundred eighty nepali movies. He came up with First album: ‘Murchana’ (2052). His second album “Purbama Rang Chadecha” did phenomenal business in Darjeeling and Sikkim.
