visiting delegation of cricket’s world governing body ICC and the government of Nepal have reached an agreement to work towards setting up a revamped cricket board in Nepal. The ICC three-member delegation, led by CEO David Richardson, met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at his office in Baluwatar today to discuss a proposal presented by Nepal’s National Sports Council to form a cricket board in Nepal. Also present during the meet were NSC Member Secretary Keshav Bista, Sports Minister Daljeet Shripaili and former CAN CEO Bhawana Ghimire. The ICC accepted the proposal as it felt that the new structure will discourage political interference in cricket, Bista told Onlinekhabar. According to sources the ICC is likely to form an advisory committee with 5-7 members today itself. The members will represent different groups of the cricket community in Nepal, it is learnt. The committee will work on amending CAN’s statute, and conduct elections in three months.
